For Josh Baker, the journey began at home with his daughter, Grace. Grace, a bright and determined young woman born with special needs, had just graduated high school and was struggling to find meaningful employment. Like many families, Josh and his wife, Amy, faced the heartbreaking reality that opportunities for people with disabilities were few and far between. They dreamed of creating not just a job for Grace, but a place where she and others like her could thrive, belong, and shine.

That dream is what sparked Pizzabilities.

But Josh knew he couldn’t build it alone. So he picked up the phone and called someone who had played a huge role in his life years earlier – Ron Burner, his high school baseball coach and a lifelong friend. Ron wasn’t just a coach; he was also a seasoned restaurateur, having run the beloved Nicolosi’s Pizza for decades along with his wife Barb. His passion for food and his proven success in the restaurant world made him the perfect partner for the vision Josh and Amy had for Pizzabilities.

Over the years, Josh and Ron had stayed close. They had worked together through Josh’s career in real estate, even living in the same Alpine neighborhood, and their families had shared milestones and memories. So when Josh asked Ron and Barb to join him, Amy, and Grace in creating a pizza place with a greater purpose, Ron didn’t hesitate.

Together, they formed a partnership built on friendship, trust, and a shared belief that pizza can do more than feed people – it can change lives.

Today, Josh, Amy, Ron, Barb and Grace stand side by side as the founders of Pizzabilities. Their mission is simple but powerful: serve delicious pizza while providing meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with special needs. Grace’s journey inspired it, but the impact reaches far beyond one family – it touches an entire community.

At Pizzabilities, every slice has a purpose. And behind each pizza is a story of friendship, family, and the belief that everyone deserves a chance to shine.
